There are damaged mobile phones, old iPods, in fact music is everywhere in Sharp Objects, but there never is a composer behind the scenes. So everything you hear, is just happening in filmic reality. Executed with awesome perfection. There is Alan‘s expensive record player system (find the details in the interview with musical supervisor Sue Jacobs in our TV column). He is living in his world of music. And we all are raising eyebrows when he quite unexpectedly puts on The Doors‘ „Riders On The Storm“. What the hell is going on? (m.e.)
