Manafonistas

Ich bin wohl ca. 65% rocksozialisiert, 30% jazzsozialisiert, und 5 % Mahlersozialisiert. (Konrad H. beschrieb seine Jugend mal mit so einem Schuss Soziologendeutsch.) Schon mit 12 hatte ich zwei Liebligsbands, The Kinks und The Beatles. „Lieblingsbands“ kamen in der Regel sowieso aus der Popmusik, hiessen später Wire, drei Werke lang, oder The Talking Heads (drei Werke lang), The Go-Betweens (the whole time:)) or or or … mhm … There is only one favourite band left today, and that’s The Mountain Goats. And that’s not really a band. And, well, there is another one, no rule without exception: Food, the ever-changing band of sax player Iain Bellamy. No big name, no game changer, but a slow burner. Ah, yes, and The Necks. Statistics go crazy.

Rega baut seit langem solch elegant-flache, gerne auch farbige Dreher, kostengünstige Qualitätsware, für Vinylisten in jungen Jahren so attraktiv wie einst der Citroen 2CV. Man kann diese schicken Dinger auch ganz zeitlos betrachten, vom Jugendzimmer in das eigene Ferienhaus am Waldesrand verfrachten. Kleine Boxen, die richtige Gesellschaft, und gute Musik. Heute dann mal das dritte Album von Linda Ronstadt, das einfach „Linda Ronstadt“ heisst. (Das passiert, wenn ein Manafonista dem anderen etwas zum Bilde (verdreht) hinzufügt, und gar keine Ahnung von der Mathilde im Titel hat.)

Weird and awesome. „Mana“ Michael and his old friend Olaf experienced the Band aka the „thrak-attack“  „im Dortmunder Westfalenpark“ – they were, let’s stick to the truth, blown away. It is totally satifying to get your hands on the „simple“ cd-dvd-audio version only, with hi-res amd 5:1-mixes of the core material – the big box is for KC-hardcore fans and collectors. Or simply For people who  like to do crazy things from time to time.
