The Allman Brothers Band: Eat A Peach. Especially nice: Mountain Jam. A soul-jazz boogie made in heaven. The Allman Bros extemporize over a motif from a Donovan song and play themselves to dizzying heights, then after about 24 minutes Duane, the sky dog, goes into overdrive. That’s what happiness sounds like!

Brian Whistler has been there, when the original line up of the ABB played MOUNTAIN JAM at the Filmmore East. Still puts me in a state of wonder.

And Brian, why not come to my last radio night in December.
I will play a track from one of the evenings you had experienced live in NYC, in 1971 …

And in my studio, a party with nice, fully vacchinated people🤣
