Andrew is an ambitious young jazz drummer, single-minded in his pursuit to rise to the top of his elite east coast music conservatory. A nightmare starts. When the jazz police had seen the movie, the right-wing academics of all colors saw their hour coming with furious responses that revealed a fair „amount“ of emotional intelligence. Lobbyists are lobbyists and thus a bit limited in their perception. The film was just telling a story, and a really good and complex one. And it would equally have succeeded in every other scenery, in  an opera house, a sports agency, or a psychiatric clinic. Now comes the good news. Not all jazz drummers or teachers felt insulted. Exclusive to the Blu-ray is a 42-minute documentary featuring famous drummers who share stories and discuss their passion for the craft including the wonderful Chad Smith (one of my favourites), Peter Erskine, Gina Schock, Diane Perry and many more.
