„London sprawls for an old city. Most European capitals are pretty compact, but London, being an amalgamation of former villages, has many centers and activities can take place, miles apart from one another. As a result there can be some long and strenuous pedals.“

(David Byrne: Bicycle Diaries)

Get on your bikes, I will take you to the North of London, to Crouch End, where we will meet the Bombay Bicycle Club. Let’s first step into the same named eat-in restaurant and enchant a nice mouthwatering Indian meal. Then we split with A SO LONG, SEE YOU TOMORROW. This is a title of a song from the very young band BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB. I adore them. I discovered them, when I became aware of a portrait from the British artist Joe Simpson. He painted some musicians and among them is the leadsinger Jack Steadman of BBC. They do not only rock, acoustic is as enjoyable as the electronic stuff. Ed Nash plays the bass just great. They are all so young, the music is so innocent and purity. They repeat the words over and over like a mandra. The effect is – you feel jolly.
