Am 29.Juni erscheint eine Platte, die wahrscheinlich meine Top 10 des Jahres 2018 nochmals richtig durchschütteln wird. Gerade habe ich über FIRST LISTEN auf npr.org Charles Lloyd & the Marvels + Lucinda Williams mit ihrer Platte Vanished Gardens gehört. Wer hätte das gedacht, Charles Lloyd mit Lucinda Williams? Auch Bill Frisell ist mit dabei. Unbedingt anhören, eine wunderbare Platte.
Und noch etwas:
Interessant und richtig gut auch Graham Nash, Over The Years … kommt ebenfalls am 29.6. in die Läden. Man kann die Platte gerade auf npr.org anhören und kann sofort in die 60er Jahre eintauchen. Tom Moon schreibt u.a. „The collection of demos on Nash’s songwriting anthology Over The Years suggests something else: Despite the endlessly documented distractions of the period, Nash was remarkably disciplined when it came time to work. He crafted clear, tidy, neatly-stitched songs; some of them („Chicago“, „Immigration Man“) were about big ideas and some („Our House“) were small, soothingly domestic parlor songs. He heard them whole, as finished creations: A surprising number of these recordings contain specific ideas (about phrasing, emphasis, etc.) that carried over to (and became endearing traits of) the finished versions.“
