P.S.: „Killing your sweetest babies“: that’s what film directors say, when they have to let go of great scenes for the greater good of the movie. So it’s hard not to at least mention all those great albums that could easily grow with time and end up, for example, in the last edition of this year’s „Klanghorizonte“. But I do resist the temptation. Hard.

Bis vor Kurzem musste man mich überreden, in eine Country-CD auch nur reinzuhören – das Lucinda Williams-Doppelalbum lief dann bis zum Schluss mit gemischten intensiven Gefühlen durch (einen ähnlichen Effekt hatte der Film „Winter’s Bone“, der zwei Seiten der „ländlichen Gebiete“ der USA zeigt). Auf Platz 1 hätten die Nummern 2-7 genausogut stehen können, z.B. die Loop-Artistin Hannah Epperson. Ansonsten viel Piano-Musik, eher ruhig. Black music fehlt fast völlig, ganz anders als ich es selbst eingeschätzt hätte; da muss ich ich bei den anderen Manas mal umschauen. Auch kein Tom Waits, obwohl der Tip „Vert – The Days Within“ gut war (aber leider von 2015, Michael hätte das gemerkt).

Dieses Jahr fällt mir die Auswahl schwer. Drei überragende Alben, die ich nicht auf Plätze verteilen möchte, bei den restlichen einiges, was in wirklich starken Jahren wohl nicht unter meinen Top-Alben gelandet wäre. Und die neue von Kate Bush kommt erst Anfang nächster Woche und muss daher bis nächstes Jahr warten. (1.12.2016)
