Listened to Hejira this afternoon after reading the Sunday review …

Aber hättest du die Zeilen ohne die aktielle Lektüre klar erkannt?
Ich habe das Album schon so oft gehört, aber diese Worte hätte ich nicht zuordnen können. Es ist einfach so: oft gehen die Worte im Klang auf, einzelne Verse hörst du ganz klar, Wort für Wort, andere verwandeln sich in Luft. Interessantes Phänomen. Selbst bei so starken „Bildern“ trifft das zu. Vielleichf zündete das Bild nicht, weil ich das Wort forceps nicht kannte. Man kann es entschlüsseln, aber wenn man hört, interpretiert man nicht. Forceps: Zange / Geburtszange.
Nein – hätte ich nicht erkannt. Ich war mir recht schnell sicher, dass es von Hejira ist, habe aber die Zeile auch heute nicht bewusst gehört – aber sie wird in der Besprechung glaube ich auch erwähnt, oder?
Mir geht es immer wieder so, dass ich Texte ausblende und die Stimme dann wie ein Instrument höre. Das ich mich von den Texten/Bildern einsaugen lasse gibt es natürlich auch, aber das ist dann ein anderes Hören.

Daa sind die einizgen Mitchell Alben, die ich brauche, und für mich die besten. Die Alben No. 3 bis 5 ändern zuweilen ihr Ranking. Miles And Aisles war ein tolles Live-Album, wie alles hier aus den Siebzigern:)
Brian Enos Favourit war Court and Spark and by the time it was released he obsessively listened to that album, in great love with a girlfriend in Paris. He spent his nights in a little house in a secret garden with other secret houses in that secret garden. I really found out the place, in 1992, he gave me a description, a kind of map. A winter paradise near le jardin du Luxembourg. I stranded there on a winter day, had booked formthree nights in a mini castle house – the old dame lost my fax, and i couldn‘t stay, so i landed in the most shitty hotel around. But magic was restablished itself when meeting Tamia and Pierre Favree a la troisieme arrondissement. Lovely encounter, heartfelt.
