This seems to be a quiz.
I think, the man on the first photo is our Brian Whistler, with Art Lande‘s best album ever. But then again, Brian in Colorado, well I have my doubts now.
The second photo suggests you have been meeting Carla Bley and Steve Swallow. Manfred is very enthusiastic about the production he recently did with the trio in Lugano.

Yes, Brian’s in California … this is Art Lande in Boulder (Brian knows what the thanks is for), talking about how he was discovered and given the chance to record his first album by Manfred Eicher.
Steve & Carla (they were also talking about their new album a lot) are living close to Woodstock, as are Gary Peacock and Marilyn Crispell whom I visited around the weekend as well.

Lajla, nicht direkt. Ich besuchte Marilyn Crispell, die mitten in Woodstock lebt, und Gary Peacock, der zwanzig Minuten südlich lebt, auf der anderen Seite des Ashokan Reservoirs. Und wie gesagt, Steve & Carla, die 20 Minuten östlich von Woodstock leben. Über Levon Helm, der schon 2012 starb, sprachen wir kurz, im Zusammenhang mit anderen Musikern, die dort leben. Jack DeJohnette lebt auch dort, aber jede/r meinte nur, man träfe sich allenfalls hin und wieder im Post Office. Michelle Makarski, in Bearsville lebend, trifft sich öfters mit Marilyn, aber für ein Interview mit Ton und Bild war sie nicht zu gewinnen. Daran habe sie keinerlei Interesse, schrieb sie freundlich. David Torn (ebenfalls Woodstock) hatte mir ein Treffen zugesagt, ist seither aber kommunikationstechnisch nicht mehr erreichbar. Vielleicht klappt’s doch noch… wer weiß…
Heute besuchte (Freitag) ich übrigens Jan und seine Frau in Pittsburgh. Er zeigte mir den vermutlich größten Plattenladen Pittsburghs, wo ich einen Packen alter ECM-LPs kaufte (u.a. Richie Beirachs „Elm“ und was von Lyle Mays), dann aber unbedingt raus musste, um nicht noch mehr Interessantes zu finden.
Nächste Woche treffe ich u.a. noch Meredith Monk.
