Immediately ordered Talespinnin‘ and, guilty pleasure, George Benson‘s Body Talk in 4.0 surround on Vocalion. Really lowpriced. In fact, I love some of the easy stuff, though CTI never ever was my label really.

Well, so far I have bought two things from Vocalian, Night Passage and Tail Spinnin.I am very indebted to Dutton Vocalion for doing what Audio Fidelity didn’t. Both remasters are very bright the upper end to my ears, if you own the AF remaster of Tail Spinnin, it’s considerably darker in the cymbals, but I think it’s overall a better remaster, ie less ear fatigue in the long run. But the quad layer is quite wonderful ,and all my bootlegs of the quad version are being thrown in the trash, it’s worth the price for this alone. As for the Benson, I too have thought about picking it up for th quad layer. Wonder if all Vocalion releases are this bright in the highs.
