1970 – My husband went to 2 concerts of THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND in the auditorium in Santa Monica / California. He was overwhelmed by the guitar players Duane Allman and Dickey Betts. He enjoyed the real southernman, one of the two drummers.
1971 – FREE BIRD Duane died in a motorcycle crash.
1974 – Three of us traveled to Southern Italy. We climbed Stromboli and starred into the working vulcano. „Fährman hol över“ to Medina on Sicily. In a tiny station, we were told, that the next train would pass in 8 hours. I decided to stroll around the village. Coming back from my walk, my friend yelled at me: „Where have you been, the train just left“. I assume, he had read too much of Alfred Adler then. My lifelove just smiled at me and started to sing with his deep tender voice: SWEET HOME ALABAMA. This was my first experience with the Allman Brothers. Until today they are my favorite rock and blues band. Unbeatable. There is no band, who can put me so much under spell with their 30 minutes play.
2017 – Yesterday I heard, that the Grateful Dead gave two concerts in L.A. …
No comparison, pleaaaaaaze.
This Friday The Beach Boys will play in Brussels. It’s always good to surf.
May 2017 – We were sitting under green green trees. I looked at Michael and Jochen, I know they like the Allmans. We didn’t know by then, that Gregg Allman has passed away. Everything and everybody was so heiter. How wonderful, we are all so much in the same spirit of our age.
