Umeå 1 – breiter weiter Horizont nordwärts

Umeå ist musikalisch ein spezieller Ort mit seinem JazzFestival (jetzt in sechsundvierzigster Ausgabe).

Schon erstaunlich, was sich hier auf kleinstem Raum (örtlich und zeitlich) in der Weite der Landschaft drumrum trifft! Wo hat man schon die Gelegenheit, in so kurzer Zeitspanne mit den verschiedensten Musikern zu sprechen und zu lachen. No name-dropping! Kommt später …

Gestern um fünf Uhr nachmittag das wohl beste Pianotrio unserer Tage in Aktion: Bobo Stenson, Anders Jormin, Jon Fällt.
 
 
 

 
 
 
Die ätherischen Arco-Einleitungen von Jormin, das wundervolle Entfalten des Songs von Stenson (ohne jegliches Trara) und das scharf geschnittene, polyrhythmische und humorvolle Schlagwerk von Jon Fält! Und dann die Auswahl der Songs und ihre Reihenfolge! Dies ist ein Trio, in dem wirklich rein die Musik im Vordergrund steht, gebracht von Musikern, die so ganz drinstehen. Ist das der Grund, dass man dieses Trio in der Mitte Europas so wenig auftreten sieht? Die Musik hat ja alles, was das Herz von vielen Leuten höher schlagen lässt, oder!?

    Mir gefält ganz allgemein der Sound von Klaviertrios in diesen, unseren Tagen (irgendwie besänftigend und gleichzeitig erdend). Namedropping: Giovanni Guidi, Craig Taborn, Stefano Battaglia, Satoko Fujii … :)

    Dieses Trio ist eins der wenigen, an dem mein Bedarf wirklich noch nicht gedeckt ist:)

    Serendipity meine Ecm-Lieblingsplatte des Trios, damals noch mit Drummer Jon Christensen. Aber auch die neueren sind state of the art.

    Just emailed with Jan Bang, concerning at least one my favourite trios, The Necks, the others are Dawn of Midi, Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin, Bobo’s and (because of the last album) Carla’s ones.

    There might always be logistic problems that prevent this or that act that seems (for Punkt, at least) like a marriage made in heaven. But don’t you think it’s finally time for THE NECKS at Punkt. Their new album OPEN is mind-blowing!!!!! As have been a lot of their works in the last 25 years!

    P.S. There are too many Tord Gustafsson and Keith Jarrett Trio albums in the world, and definitely, in another world of sound, a sad absence of Sidsel Endresen studio albums. One on ten years. I would call this a loss. At the peak of her powers.

    we´ve tried several times to get the neck´s, but somehow it never happened. i´ve been in touch with one of the members (the bass player i believe) that i met while in sydney with hassell at brian´s festival. maybe we could make it work if it´s part of other european dates..otherwise it´s an expensive one off in terms of flights.

    sidsel have been working on her solo album for many years. she is one of a kind and hopefully she will produce a solo album in the future. i guess she is most comfortable with live situations and less comfortable with the studio situation as opposed to in the past where she did a lot of studio based work, both as artist, but even more as guest artist with others.

    Ich mag dein Foto sehr, mit dem Kirchenturm, und den Wolken im rechten Winkel. Die Wolken haben die grössere Sogwirkung. In Deutschland laufen jetzt die Katholiken der Kirche weg, in Scharen, nach diesem Prunkfreak und der desolaten Politik der Kirche, ihre Kindermissbraucher von hohen Würden zu schützen. Endlich. Ein krankes System. Glaube braucht kein Opus Dei und ähnliche Gruselvereine.
