A short film portrait / interview with Italian photographer Roberto Masotti, whom I visited in Castello Tesino (Trentino) a year ago. Over the past 50 years he has captured countless iconic and memorable portraits and images of music productions, concerts, stage performances and studio sessions. His latest book collects photographies of Keith Jarrett, starting in 1968; and there’s also a very beautiful, and personal, book on black paper, collecting a huge variety of musicians in action (Jazz Area – La mia storia con il Jazz). He’s currently working on a book featuring his photos of John Cage, whom he met and travelled with a few times.
