From dishwasher to millionaire – that’s the American Dream in a nutshell. How do people in the country experience it these days? This is the theme of a documentary film worth seeing that ran on 3sat on 22 October and can only be viewed today in the media library via this link, authentic in the original with German subtitles. The film team travelled on the train across the USA and has asked travellers for their statements. In this way we learn a lot about the mood in the country and about which concept of freedom is supported by the state and which concepts of life are confined.
