„Even so, even so –
be a Buddhist boy and let it go …“

Sometimes songs they come along like icecream: they don´t feed you but well-dosed they perfectly garnish nice summerdays. Even though it´s midst of april and quite long before the moon in june some Prefab Sprout stuff came into my mind. I liked listening to that band in the ninetees for quite a period of time – carefully hiding them from snobbish jazz purists who might have degraded them as music of cheap quality. Paddy McAloon´s songs are like magic carpets: ephemeral and weightless flows. Three songs I am escorting on guitar these days with the melodyline trying to imitate this smooth voice: „Songs of Danny Galway“, „The King of Rock ‚N‘ Rolland „The Best Jewel Thief in the World“, my favorite one – according to the habits of a Münsteraner Liederdieb and the Pied Piper of Hamelin. (J.S.)
