Ingo. Das ist eine schöne Ergänzung. Wie unterstützend Fiona für O‘ Connor ist! Von Fiona Apple gefällt mir „Shadow Boxer“ gut.

  3. uwe Meilchen:

    Tori Amos ? P.J. Harvey ? Diamanda Galas ?

  4. Ian M:

These are some of my fave listens:

    Tori Amos – The Beekeeper
    Heidi Berry – Miracle
Kate Bush – Hounds of Love
    Jerry Burns – Jerry Burns
    Róisín Murphy – Overpowered
    Sarah Cracknell – Lipslide
Kesarbai Kerkar – [check out any available compilations – really amazing]

  5. Lajla:

Formidable, Uwe et Ian. You mentioned two wonderwomen: Diamanda Galas offers a world full of inspirations, which make you strong. I admire her as much as Meredith Monk.

Kerkar is a huge Indian voice with the smell of Mumbai, like cassandra’s Sirene, very impressing.

  6. Brian Whistler:

A very eclectic list! Glad to see Joni represented on there, along with Mercedes Sosa.

I would add Esperanza, who is becoming a serious songwriter besides a wonderful composer/instrumentalist. She continues to surprise. Her late album, the Devolution of Emily didn’t get much attention, but has some groundbreaking moments.

  7. Lajla:

Voilà, Brian, thank you for mentioning a lady out of the jazzthing. Though Esperanza rocks the artworld on so many different stages. What a talent!
