May 14th (15th) till 17th on the island of Sylt
… not everybody will be able to make this journey happen in 2015, but some will and raise their glasses on those who are under contract, on a different route … The island is a place to dream of speaking of long walks and talks, good food, great swimming. A hopefully big table will be reserved at „Samoa – Seepferdchen“ on Saturday evening (May 16th). Speeches will be short, the wine fantastic, and the sounds of the sea a constant inspiration …

Gut. It’s not such a long way up north for most of us. Pittsburg is a bit far out. The whole idea is thrilling. I think we will be five. At least.
I’ll do my best to make it – family permitting … those Eiergrogs ain’t gonna drink themselves! Plus I feel a few poems coming on!!
Not Pittsburgh, Sylt is far out. ;-) Anyways, if I happen to be in good old Germany, I’ll be there!

Das kann ich tatsächlich nicht aus dem Platten ins hohe Deutsch übersetzen, aber ich geh mal davon aus, es heisst, du kommst auch. Bisher scheint nur Henning im Wonnemonat Mai komplett ausgebucht zu sein. Markus, Ian, Jan – ein Überraschungsgast wäre schon fein, ganz zu schweigen vom 12. Manafonista.

Auf Föhr, Sylt usw. spricht man Nordfriesisch. Das ist was anderes als Plattdeutsch.
Hier spricht man eher westfälisch. Sind nämlich kaum noch Sylter hier. Exodus!
Ich trage den Termin dann auch mal in meinen Kalender ein :)
Klarer Fall von Überfremdung. Warum eigentlich kein Manafonistas-Treff auf den Lofoten? Oder auf Svalbard? Vielleicht no. 2 Grönland, auch noch ne Möglichkeit. Da wird’s demnächst einige interessante Konzerte geben. Odessa ist erst mal gestrichen.
Die gerechteste Variante: Alle Manafonistas-Wohnorte auf einer Karte eintragen und den Punkt ermitteln, der von allen gleich weit entfernt ist. Es muss nun wirklich nicht Sylt sein.
Stimmt Henning, da gibt es diesen Unterschied. Trotzdem freu ik mir wie bloed.
Nein, nein, es bleibt bei Sylt. Wenn die Manafonistas sich treffen, braucht es kein Kulturprogramm, das wäre wirklich zuviel des Guten. Sylt is a fine place to come together. Only the man from America has a big ocean to cross. Und ich bin gerade vor Ort, nehme erste Buchungen vor. The idea grew when Bob read about my infamous interview with Scott Walker on Sylt. He was fascinated by the idea to see this island since then, Gregs found the idea thrilling, Joe was on board from the start (shortest way!). So we keep things simple. Even for Ian it’s a rather short trip. And he knows about islands …
That should work out fine. I look forward to „uns zu treffen“. Sylt seems like the perfect place for a meeting. I have booked whatever tickets necessary in my mind. :-)
It is also a few islands in Norway that could be good. Or just renting a big cabin just outside of Oslo, and still be quite deep in the forrests. But one step at a time. Sylt seems a good start.
Dann melde ich mich als Nachzügler auch mal schnell an, formell und informell und überhaupt. Ich bleibe eine Weile auf Sylt, bin also wohnungsmäßig versorgt.
