That Eno-Hyde song

von: Manafonistas Filed under: Blog | TB | Comments off

On my Mobile phone, strolling through Cologne before and after working on the script for JazzFacts, i was listening to Eno’s/Hyde’s „The Satellites“ very, very often. At first I was nearly annoyed by the „happy fanfare-like“ brass play at the beginning (a treated sound?), but meanwhile I even like that awkward motive. Brian’s singing with all its subtly understated yearning quality is pure genius, to say it in Ian’s way. The song has so many textures and layers without being overpowering.“  m.e.
